The largest African open air festival in French-speaking Switzerland
The LAFF Festival is looking forward to another colorful edition in 2026! Mark your calendars now and get ready to experience a unique fusion of cultures and arts next year.
The 10th edition of the LAFF Festival will take place from August 21 to 24, 2025, on the Esplanade and in the Montbenon Casino in Lausanne, in an extraordinary atmosphere. A record attendance was estimated, breaking the record of previous years. Lausanne once again vibrated to the sounds of African and other music in a magical setting and magnificent weather during the weekend, allowing more than 20,000 festival visitors to rejoice on the various stages of the festival. The Afro-Mandingo, Urban, Salsa, Afrobeat, Reggae, Shatta, Dance Hall, Funana, Dembow, and Amapaiano stages were invaded by revelers from the early hours of the evening. The Montbenon Casino's function room was the scene of very exciting after-parties with the best Afro DJs in Lausanne. Saidou Abacha's comedy show was sold out. The African dance workshops delighted the audience. The Slam and writing workshops also allowed enthusiasts to discover the art of writing. We thank our partners, mainly the cultural department of the City of Lausanne, the Municipality of Lausanne through the presence of Mr. Pierre-Antoine Hildbrand, Municipal Councilor, Director of Security, Economy and Water. Our thanks also go obviously to our wonderful team of volunteers.

Access to the city centre of Lausanne is not always easy due to the high density of traffic on the main arteries of the city centre. We strongly recommend that festival-goers use public transport. However, there are a few car parks very close to the festival. We also recommend checking the train timetables to and from Lausanne, which has a generally well-served train station. To get to the Parc de Montbenon, an information office located in the Lausanne train station will be happy to provide you with information on how to get there in less than 10 minutes on foot.
The festival's craft market is a treasure trove of African art, full of colors and traditions. There are unique creations such as jewelry, sculptures and fabrics. Each object reflects the know-how and cultural richness of the continent.
The festival’s culinary market is a true sensory experience. The stalls offer spicy dishes and African sweets. Each bite is a taste of the continent’s delights.
